Completely updated Reblooming Irises at Iris Hills Farm can be found on this web site on the pages for Tall Bearded Irises and Median Irises so look for your reblooming irises on the proper page - they are indicated by the words Reblooms and Reliable Rebloomer. The irises marked 'Reliable Rebloomer' ought to rebloom every fall if cared for as described in the article on growing rebloomers on the "Articles" page. Some rebloomers will rebloom the year after they are planted, but some will not. Irises that just say Reblooms, may only rebloom every several years. Irises marked with an X before 'Reblooms' have rebloomed in my garden. Tall bearded irises range from 28 inches tall as the minimum requirement, to some that are around 4 feet tall. Tall bearded irises are the most popularly grown class of iris. Awards are given to the irises that receive the most votes from American Iris Society Judges. For all 15 classes of iris, the first-level award is the HM award. 10 percent of recently introduced varieties win the HM Award. Next comes the AM Award (Award of Merit). 10 percent of irises that have won an HM win an AM. The highest award for a Tall Bearded iris is the Wister Medal, which is given to three varieties each year. The highest award for any type of iris, is the Dykes Medal, which is given to one iris each year. Any class of iris can win the Dykes Medal. Many Dykes' Medal winners are Tall Bearded irises.
